The SH240EL is a great example of a versatile and highly automated sonicator water bath that has outstanding utility for sample preparation and cleaning lab equipment. The intuitive LED equipped control panel allows you complete mastery over both operations.
All applications require that you degas fresh sonicating solutions used in sample prep and fresh ultrasonic cleaning solutions. The SH240EL sonicating water bath's auto-degas feature does this within 10 minutes. Note that you can easily drain and save unspent solutions, remembering to clean the tank each time you do so.
To degas HPLC solutions; mix, disperse, emulsify and dissolve specimens:
Place specimens in Erlenmeyer flasks into flask clamps and attach them to the stainless steel basket (flask clamps and baskets available separately). Lower the basket into the sonicating solution so that the flasks are only partially immersed. Set the timer, activate the sweep function and turn the unit on. The LEDs will show set time and remaining time. Because cavitation causes heat care should be taken to keep solution temperature below levels recommended for the particular samples. An optional cooling coil may prove useful.
To clean lab equipment
Mix the correct biodegradable ultrasonic cleaning solution concentrate to instructions and add to the fill line of the SH240EL sonicating water bath. (Remember to degas new solutions.) Set the thermostat to the recommended level and the timer for the recommended cleaning time. Converging LEDs will show actual against set levels. Place instruments into the basket, lower it into the solution and activate the sweep function. The unit will start when the set temperature is reached and stop at the designated cleaning time.
We'll help you select the right sized ultrasonic equipment, the correct biodegradable cleaning solution concentrates and operating procedures to get the highest productivity possible from your ultrasonic cleaner investment.
